About the Studio
I’ve always been interested in sharing my art with many rather than selling it to just a few. Popular art has always been my choice and my previous career choices speak to that conviction, what could be more of a popularly oriented art form than comic books and video games? And it’s in that same spirit and conviction that even when I’ve decided to be more reclusive and more true to my personal artistic style that I still chose "fine art prints" as a more democratic way of art.
Vastly important to me is that above all I like to communicate. I need to say something, tell a story, provoke a thought or express a feeling with the images I create. For me it’s difficult to get satisfaction from art that’s static and doesn't say anything. I understand the concept of art for art sake, but for me even when the art says nothing, I want people to know that I’m saying nothing with intent.
I believe also that art should have merit and it goes without saying that there has to be value either by effort and skill or by raw talent. I do not mind art created for now and for effect, but personally I prefer art that has enduring value and lasts forever… There has to be beauty of course as without it, the world will be too scary to contemplate.
Nothing should be conventional and nothing should be within the realms of what we call the norm. Institutions are always old and out of step by their very nature, everything must change, be reborn and evolve, as it is the very essence of life itself.
“The only constant is change itself.”
