WELCOME to Pepe's Studio
Thank you sincerely for exploring my artwork and stepping into my online studio. I see myself as a person driven by honor and integrity, compelled by a duty to infuse my creations with genuine value. Your interest humbles me, and I would be immensely gratified if you find resonance in my pieces, perhaps choosing to acquire one or a few to enrich your living space or nourish your soul.
My passion lies in sharing art with a wide audience, evident in my past career choices centered around popular art forms like comic books and video games. Even as I embrace a more reclusive artistic style, I've opted for "fine art prints" as a democratic means of sharing my work.
Central to my artistic journey is the need to communicate. Every image I create tells a story, provokes thought, or expresses a feeling. Static art without a message fails to satisfy me. While I appreciate the concept of art for art's sake, even when my art seems silent, it's with purpose.
In my view, art should carry merit, whether through effort, skill, or raw talent. While I appreciate art for the present moment, my personal preference leans towards pieces with enduring value. Beauty, an essential element, prevents the world from becoming too daunting.
Conventional norms hold no place in my artistic expression. I believe in challenging established paradigms and embracing change, rebirth, and evolution—the very essence of life itself. Art should break free from the constraints of outdated institutions, forging a path that reflects the dynamic nature of existence. “The only constant is change itself” —Pepe Moreno, (common folklore)
About Pepe Moreno
Pepe Moreno is a world-renowned author, artist, designer, and gaming entrepreneur with over 35 years of experience across traditional and digital art forms and the broader entertainment industry. A true pioneer of the digital art movement, he is best known as the creator of Batman: Digital Justice, the first-ever digital graphic novel, which became the second-best-selling comic in history at the time of its release. This groundbreaking work marked a technological turning point, showcasing the potential of computers in art and earning widespread acclaim across technology, comics, and video game magazines. Batman: Digital Justice remains a historical milestone in the comics industry, recognized and revered by nearly everyone in the field.
As a trailblazer in digital art and technology, Pepe seamlessly transitioned into the video game revolution with Hellcab, one of the first-ever CD-ROM video games. As President of Digital Fusion Inc., a design and development studio based in Los Angeles, he has overseen the creation of numerous games and applications. His popular BeachHead game series, including BeachHead 2000 and its sequels, sold millions of copies worldwide. The shareware version of BeachHead alone garnered over a billion downloads, becoming a cultural phenomenon in China and the United States, where it held the number-one spot for arcade games for three consecutive years. The series remains one of the most enduring cult video game titles of the past three and a half decades.
Pepe’s creative impatience and fascination with technology have driven groundbreaking innovations and historical milestones in comics, art, and entertainment technology. His artistic aesthetic is uniquely his own, characterized by a distinctive line style and an explosion of color that transcends the typical comic book form. With seven graphic novels to his name, his work flourished in the 1980s with notable stories such as Rebel, Gene Kong, Generation Zero, Joe’s Airforce, and The War Zone. Pepe’s art has been featured in magazines and publications worldwide alongside legendary comic book artists like Richard Corben, Moebius, Katsuhiro Otomo, Tanino Liberatore and many other industry greats.
While some might say Pepe is "all over the place," this diversity is his strength. His work cannot be confined to a single medium or art form; rather, it is the sum of it all that defines his art and brand, transcending time and form.
